How well do you understand Obamacare?
It's certainly been a while since our last post, and a lot has happened. One thing of note besides the US government's shutdown is Obamacare - but it seems to be something that is not very well understood among people, on all sides of the debate.
So, how would you rate your understanding of it, and how would you go about explaining it - pros and con's both - to people who don't know as much? Leave a comment below with your thoughts!
I am not an object
There’s something I don’t like about the phrase “rape culture.” It’s not that I think it doesn’t exist or that I want to turn a blind eye to the problem. Education, private or public, is very inefficient. You learn very little very slowly. I can learn more about science, politics, history, art, and geography from YouTube, Wikipedia, and other online resources in one week than I could in a semester. And the presentation is much clearer, the notes are all there, and I can go at my own pace. Homeschooling, if done well, can be very effective. And it's cheap.
The best education would be one where you follow a flexible curriculum involving lots of online resources. Home-schooling or public/private ed. The important thing is there should be no more tedious textbooks or chalkboard scribble sessions where you go a snails pace - you should instead watch something like a detailed Crash Course, accompany it with written materials hosted in a wiki format, and then get tested for your understanding.
Because public school is slow to adapt and has to accommodate those who don't have the resources, homeschooling (and private, but it's hella expensive) is the most plausible method for employing such a curriculum.
